Privacy Policy

1. Who this applies to

This Privacy Policy explains how Kummarod Technologies Private Limited ("we", "us"), operating RecrIntern, collects, uses, and protects personal data of intern candidates, organizations, and site visitors.

2. What we collect
  • Account information: email, phone number, password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text).
  • Candidate profile: name, college, course, year, education domain, state, skills, academic subjects, bio, resume file.
  • Organization profile: organization name, website, location, state, about text, internship postings.
  • AI interview data: your typed/transcribed answers, and — only if you choose to enable the camera — a client-side "attention" signal (not a video recording sent to us; see Section 5) and whether you switched away from the interview tab.
  • Payment data: transaction amount, status, and Razorpay's own payment/order identifiers. We do not receive or store your card, UPI, or bank account details — those go directly to Razorpay.
  • Usage data: login timestamps (for the "active now" / "active in 24h" indicators shown on our homepage), IP address (for CAPTCHA/security checks).
3. How we use it
  • To operate the Platform — matching candidates with internships, running AI screening, processing payments, sending OTP codes and notifications (email/SMS).
  • To generate personalized AI interview questions from your coursework/resume and internship description, and to evaluate your answers (see Section 6 on the AI processing involved).
  • To communicate with you about your account, applications, and screening results.
  • To detect fraud, abuse, and enforce our Terms.
4. Who we share it with

Your resume and profile are shared with organizations you apply to (candidates) or that you're searching for (organizations searching candidates) — that's the core function of the Platform. Beyond that, we share data with the service providers who help us run RecrIntern, only as needed to provide their specific function:

  • Anthropic — processes your interview answers and resume excerpt to generate questions and evaluate responses.
  • Twilio — delivers SMS notifications (if enabled).
  • Razorpay — processes payments.
  • Our email/SMTP provider — delivers email notifications.
  • Google reCAPTCHA — verifies you're not a bot at registration/login.

We do not sell your personal data.

5. About the AI interview's camera feature specifically

If you choose to enable your camera during the AI interview, video frames are analyzed locally in your browser (using a face-detection model loaded from a third-party CDN) to produce a simple "was a face detected and roughly centered" signal — we do not receive, transmit, or store the actual video or images. Only the resulting counts (e.g. "flagged 2 times") are sent to our servers. Camera access is optional; declining it doesn't affect your ability to complete the interview.

6. Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, once fully in force), you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us using the details below. You can also update most profile information yourself, anytime, from your dashboard.

7. Data retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active, and payment records for as long as required for accounting/tax compliance even after an account is closed. Contact us to request earlier deletion, subject to any legal retention requirements.

8. Security

Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. Login uses two-factor verification (password + OTP) by default. We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit and at rest, but no system is completely secure — we can't guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. We don't currently use third-party advertising/tracking cookies.

10. Children's privacy

RecrIntern is intended for users 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 18.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
